Our Story
Founder, CEO & Executive Director
LaTanya Sherman
“Through her lifelong commitment to helping others and her passion for the homeless, Project EDUCATE was born.”
As a single mother of three, persistence has been key in LaTanya’s success and has
played an instrumental role in her development of Project EDUCATE. As a native of Los
Angeles, born and raised in Compton, she has seen the good, the bad, and the
underserved.
Recognizing her desire to make a difference in her community, Ms. Sherman went on
to earn her Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science from CSUDH. She also holds a
Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University and two Associate
Degrees from Compton College in Criminal Justice and Social Studies. Learn More
